Ever Vessel × Ellie Compton: Land of Modern Icons

New Zealand artist Ellie Compton brings together eleven of the world’s most recognisable architectural icons on two floating islands. This latest collaboration wraps Ellie’s signature black linework around our clear Glass water bottle, with plenty of familiar places to spot in this whimsical world.
“Land of Modern Icons”
The Sydney Opera House and the Eiffel Tower don’t usually share a skyline. In Ellie Compton’s Land of Modern Icons, they’re part of the same imagined world, along with nine other landmarks and passing airships. In this collaboration with Ever Vessel, Ellie has brought seven cities together on two whimsical floating islands.

Meet Ellie Compton
Ellie is the New Zealand artist behind Maker of Chaos Studios. With a background in architecture, Ellie has a sharp eye for structure, place and detail, but it is the human stories within those spaces that shape her artwork.
Much of her commissioned work starts with people’s own stories. Clients share memories and details of their lives, which Ellie works into elaborate drawings. She uses black ink and storytelling to weave together detail, place, and emotion creating meaningful pieces of art.
Her work includes framed commissions and large-scale murals with clients including Google, Reebok, T2 & QT Hotels.
When story telling and architecture collide
Each artwork created by Ellie is rewarded with a closer look, the small details revealing themselves the longer you spend with each piece. Buildings are opened up to reveal the activity inside and small personal references give each piece meaning for the person it belongs to.

Where previous collaborations have explored color, nature and the ocean, this one is focused on architecture and imagination. It’s part cityscape, part fantasy and unmistakably Ellie.
